Our Origin Story
Operation H.O.S.T.
(Healing Our Sexual Trauma)
Operation HOST was born from hope and the story of this organization’s creation is fit for a novel. Jaimie Ames, our executive director and Army Veteran, was writing her memoir in hopes to pass her stories through generations. It was during this time that she discovered that her favorite author, Richard Paul Evans, was hosting a writer’s retreat on his ranch in southern Utah. Jaimie suffered from extreme anxiety and many other common PTSD symptoms, so the idea of traveling across the country was a tedious one, but she felt compelled. It was there that she discovered that she had more than a memoir, she found hope and an unlikely friendship.
Mr. Evans took interest in her small family project. She shared, for the first time in her life, some of her darkest moments. Her MST story was one that had been locked away for decades. It was then that he planted the seed for an organization that would help all MST survivors. A sanctuary of hope, camaraderie, and healing.
Today the organization is made up of U.S. Veterans and caring hearts that continue to develop Operation HOST into a safe haven for our heroes.

What we do
Operation HOST Mission
Our mission at Operation HOST is to gather and advocate and care for our nation’s heroes who have suffered from a sexually traumatic experience, especially those that happened while serving. These brave survivors will be guided through their personal healing journey. Each Veteran will have a custom care plan developed to fit their individual mental and physical health needs.
Peer to peer therapy sessions are offered to Veterans that are looking for the camaraderie of other Veterans that have suffered in similar ways.
Operation HOST has partnered with other Veteran owned therapy-based organizations that offer different types of therapy (equestrian therapy, service dog therapy, writing therapy, crafting therapy, and many more). Our goal is to find the right combination of tools to help our heroes be the best version of themselves.
Knowing that our Veterans are not alone in their suffering is a big part of what we do. Our primary goal is to advocate for the ones that seemingly have no voice. We’re here to make noise for you. We want our VA system and our government to recognize the day-to-day suffering and challenges that our Veteran’s endure. We won’t stop until every Veteran is getting the proper treatment and the healthcare that they deserve.
Operation HOST is with you.

How we help
Taking care of those
who take care of us
Veterans helping veterans. Who will understand your journey more than we do? The military has molded our tough exterior, but it’s what’s within that needs careful consideration and care. Here at Operation HOST, we know our brothers and sisters. We’re here to customize your healing journey and hold you accountable for your progress. We want you to feel confident that someone always has your six. Our camaraderie will help you find the courage to take the next step forward.
